A Memorable Educational Experience
On 1st July 2025, a group of students from our school had the unique opportunity to visit the Lalbazar Traffic Control Room – the nerve centre of Kolkata’s traffic management system. The educational visit offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at how the city’s traffic is monitored and regulated round the clock.
Students were introduced to the functioning of the FSR (Fixed Surveillance Radar) cameras and were able to observe live traffic footage from key city points including the 7 Point Crossing, Park Street, Howrah Bridge, Maa Flyover, and several other major intersections.
The officers on duty also conducted an informative session on traffic rules and road safety, highlighting the importance of responsible behavior on the roads. The session was interactive and enlightening, sparking curiosity and awareness among the students.
As a token of appreciation, students received thoughtful souvenirs from the department, making the day even more special.
The visit proved to be a highly enriching experience, leaving the students with greater awareness of urban traffic systems and a renewed sense of civic responsibility.
