Advanced Life Support(ALS) & Basic Life Support(BLS) Hands-on Training Programme at Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar
An ALS & BLS Hands-on Training Programme was conducted at Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar on 19th January, focusing on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Emergency Recognition, and Safety Principles. The training was organized by Nabajatak Child Development Centre, Kolkata, under the “Kids Save Life, India” initiative, a nationwide movement aimed at spreading awareness and reinforcing the message that CPR saves lives.
The programme was held in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and Skilled IQ Educational Trust. The session was led by experienced medical professionals, including doctors and a psychologist, who provided both theoretical understanding and hands-on practice.
Through this training, the students were sensitised to essential life-saving skills, gaining awareness of basic human physiology, emergency response systems, and the value of human life. The programme fostered empathy, teamwork, and respect for life, while empowering adolescents with skills that, when learned early, are retained into adulthood, thereby contributing to the development of a generation of informed, confident, and prepared citizens.
